THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE

Message to reader: Galatians 4:21-31

Galatians 4:21-31 explains, who are the children of God/heirs of the Kingdom of Heaven (New Jerusalem); by the spiritual meaning of the events that took place concerning God's promise to Abraham.

Galatians 4:21: “Tell me,” [Paul] “ye” [Those in the churches of Galatia] “that desire to be under the law,” [The Levitical Law/Priesthood] “do ye not hear the law?”

Galatians 4:22: “For it is written," [In the book of the law] "that Abraham had two sons, the one” [Ishmael] “by a bondmaid,” [Hagar/Agar] “the other” [Isaac] “by a freewoman.” Sarah.

Galatians 4:23: “But he” [Ishmael] “who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh;" [Not by the promise of God, see Genesis 16:1-4, 15] "but he” [Isaac] “of the freewoman was by promise.” See Genesis 17:15-19 and Genesis 21:1-3.

Galatians 4:24: “Which things are an allegory:” [Spiritual meaning] “for these” [The bondwoman/Ishmael born after the flesh and the freewoman/Isaac born by the promise from God] “are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai," [See Leviticus 26:13-17] "which gendereth to bondage," [Death from Adam, see Romans 5:12, 20] "which is Agar.”

Galatians 4:25: “For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to" [Or corresponds to the present] "Jerusalem" [The Jews who kept the Levitical Laws and refused to accept Christ] "which now is," [During the time period of Paul’s (this) letter] "and is in bondage" [Under sin and death from Adam] "with her children." See Galatians 3:10, Acts 3:22-23, Romans 9:31-32 and Romans 11:9-10.

Galatians 4:26: “But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all." See Hebrews 9:11-15, 24, 28 and Hebrews 12:22-24.

Galatians 4:27: “For it is written," [In Isaiah 54:1-2] "Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate" [The children of the flesh] "hath many more children than she which hath an husband." See Revelation 12:1-2, 5.

Galatians 4:28: “Now we, brethren," [The children of God by faith in Christ Jesus] "as Isaac was, are the children of promise.” See Genesis 17:19 and Romans 9:6-8.

Galatians 4:29: “But as then he” [Ishmael] “that was born after the flesh persecuted him” [Isaac] “that was born after the Spirit" [See Genesis 21:8-9] "even so it is now.” See 2 Timothy 3:12 and 1 Thessalonians 2:13-16.

Galatians 4:30: “Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman” [The first covenant given to  Moses (The Levitical Priesthood), Hagar/Agar, see verses 24-25] “and her son:" [The Israelites according flesh/those who rejected Christ, see Matthew 21:42-43] "for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” See John 8:12, John 3:19-20 and Romans 9:31-32.

Galatians 4:31: “So then, brethren," [The children of God by faith in Christ Jesus] "we are not children of the bondwoman,” [The children of the flesh] “but of the free.” See Ephesians 1:1-14.
