Christ's Rebuke with Flames of Fire

2 Peters 3:10: "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

Isaiah 66:15-16

Isaiah 66:15: "For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire."

Isaiah 66:16: "For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many."

2 Esdras 15:34-37, 40-42

2 Esdras 15:34: “Behold clouds from the east and from the north unto the south, and they” [The clouds] “are very horrible to look upon, full of wrath and storm.”

2 Esdras 15:35: “They” [The clouds] “shall smite one upon another, and they” [The clouds] “shall smite down a great multitude of stars [“The burning and fuel of fire,”] “upon the earth, even their” [The cloud’s] “own star;” [Christ] “and blood shall be from the sword unto the belly,”

2 Esdras 15:36: “And dung of men unto the camel's hough.”

2 Esdras 15:37: “And there shall be great fearfulness and trembling upon earth: and they” [The people alive on earth] “that see the wrath” [Fire, and hail, and flying swords from the clouds] “shall be afraid, and trembling shall come upon them.”

2 Esdras 15:40: “The great and mighty clouds" [The sign of the Son of man in heaven] "shall be puffed up full of wrath, and the star,” [Christ] “that they may make all the earth afraid, and them that dwell therein; and they” [The clouds] “shall pour out over every high and eminent place an horrible star,” Destruction from Christ.

2 Esdras 15:41: Fire, and hail, and flying swords, and many waters, that all fields may be full, and all rivers, with the abundance of great waters.”

2 Esdras 15:42: “And they” [The clouds] “shall break down the cities and walls, mountains and hills, trees of the wood, and grass of the meadows, and their corn.” With fire and hail etc.

Wisdom of Solomon 5:20-23

Wisdom of Solomon 5:20: "His severe wrath shall he sharpen for a sword, and the world shall fight with him against the unwise."

Wisdom of Solomon 5:21: "Then shall the right aiming thunderbolts go abroad; and from the clouds, as from a well drawn bow, shall they fly to the mark."

Wisdom of Solomon 5:22: "And hailstones full of wrath shall be cast as out of a stone bow, and the water of the sea shall rage against them, and the floods shall cruelly drown them."

Wisdom of Solomon 5:23: "Yea, a mighty wind shall stand up against them, and like a storm shall blow them away: thus iniquity shall lay waste the whole earth, and ill dealing shall overthrow the thrones of the mighty."

Jeremiah 25:30-33

Jeremiah 25:30: "...The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth."

Jeremiah 25:31: "A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD."

Jeremiah 25:32: "Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth."

Jeremiah 25:33: "And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground."

Zephaniah 3:8

Zephaniah 3:8: "Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy."

Zechariah 14:12

Zechariah 14:12: "And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth."

Malachi 4:1

Malachi 4:1: "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch."
