2 Esdras 16:17-20

2 Esdras 16:17: "Woe is me! woe is me! who will deliver me in those days?"


2 Esdras 16:18: "The beginning of sorrows and great mournings; the beginning of famine and great death; the beginning of wars, and the powers shall stand in fear; the beginning of evils! what shall I do when these evils shall come?"


2 Esdras 16:19: "Behold, famine and plague, tribulation and anguish, are sent as scourges for amendment."


2 Esdras 16:20: "But for all these things they shall not turn from their wickedness, nor be always mindful of the scourges."


Revelation 13:1-5

Revelation 13:1: “And I" [John] "stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads" [The rise of the Seven Kings] "and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads" [Kings/leaders] "the name of blasphemy.”


Revelation 13:2: “And the beast” [The beast with Seven Heads and Ten Horns] “which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon” [Satan] “gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”


Revelation 13:3: “And I" [John] "saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death;” [Killed] “and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” The BEAST whose deadly wound was healed.


Revelation 13:4: “And they worshipped the dragon” [Satan] “which gave power unto The BEAST: and they worshipped The BEAST,” [Whose deadly wound was healed] “saying, Who is like unto The BEAST? who is able to make war with him?”


Revelation 13:5: “And there was given unto him" [The BEAST whose deadly wound was healed] "a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.” Or 3 ½ years.
