Message to reader: John's Introduction

As you read Revelation 1:1-9, keep in mind that John is writing an introduction to the seven churches in Asia concerning the events that will unfold in the book of Revelation. The book of Revelation (chapters 1 to 22) is the record that John bore concerning the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:2).
