The book of Revelation (chapters 1 to 22) is the record that John bore concerning the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:2).

Message to reader: Christ to The Seven Churches in Asia

Note: The seven churches in Asia consisted of Jews and Gentiles in Christ.

Christ was aware of the sins in the seven churches, see Revelation chapters 2 and 3; he warned them to repent. Additionally, those in the churches who repented and overcame were promised rewards. Likewise, the rebellious were told of their punishments.

Christ told his disciples that he would return, in their time period, to judge the church, see Matthew 24:42-51.

Peter also spoke of this time period, see 1 Peter 4:17: “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?”

The same generation that lived during the time of Christ, and the disciple’s ministry, will be brought back in the last day, see Luke 21:32.
